Former Barako Bull import Mike Singletary arrived on Friday morning to take over the spot of injured San Miguel Beer import Arizona Reid on a temporary basis.
Singletary’s agent, Sheryl Reyes, confirmed to InterAksyon.com that Singletary arrived this morning and took a short rest. He is expected to join the afternoon session of the Beermen’s daily workout.
“He is happy he got this job. He is aware of the situation and is not bothered about it. If they keep him or if he is here to replace AZ temporary, he is just happy to be back,” Reyes wrote in an exclusive online interview with InterAksyon.com.
Reyes noted that Reid, a multiple-time Best Import awardee who is recovering from an Achilles tendon injury that has kept his out of the team’s most recent game and practices, knows that his replacement has arrived, a situation he called ‘tough’ last Wednesday.
“AZ is aware of Singletary’s arrival and he will support the team in any way he can,” added Reyes.
Singletary last saw action for the Philippines-Mighty Sports team that won the gold medal in the William Jones Cup tournament last month. - Interaksyon
