DONDON Hontivoers was tightlipped about his future, saying he wants to focus on his family for now after Alaska’s PBA season came to an end on Friday night.
Talk on the veteran Aces shooting guard’s possible retirement have surfaced long before the Aces’ Governors’ Cup quarterfinal match against Ginebra, with some wondering if it was his farewell game.
But Hontiveros insisted he has yet to make a decision.
“Wala pa, wala pang masabi,” the 39-year-old gunner said. “Hintayin natin kung anong plans.”
“Sa ngayon, i-enjoy ko muna yung time sa anak ko,” he added, referring to son and teenaged cager Isaiah.
Hontiveros, who has an expiring contract with the Uytengsu franchise, has nurtured a remarkablel 16-year career in the pro league after starting out in his native Cebu.
The former Gilas captain registered 12 points, although he missed all his three three-point attempts, along with grabbing one rebound and one assist in the Aces’ 109-104 loss to the Gin Kings. - SPIN Ph
