Thursday, June 23

ESPN.com's Tim MacMahon reported Thursday the Dallas Mavericks are hoping to meet with Whiteside once the free-agency negotiating window opens on July 1.
Dallas makes sense as a potential landing spot for the 27-year-old.

Whiteside Would Provide New Team with One of NBA's Most Intimidating Defenders

Whiteside put to bed any idea that he was a one-season wonder when he averaged 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and an NBA-best 3.7 blocks per contest in 73 games for the Miami Heat in 2015-16. According to Basketball-Reference.com, he's the first player to average at least 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks since Shaquille O'Neal in 1999-2000.
