Iverson is a cultural icon, one of the biggest names of his generation and will go down as one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history. His career was marred by drama, inefficiency and the absence of a championship, but that doesn't change how great a player he was.
Allen Ezail Iverson (born June 7, 1975) is an American retired professional basketball player who played for 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Iverson declared eligibility for the 1996 NBA draft, and was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the first overall pick. He was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in the 1996–97 season. He stands 6 ft 0 in (1.83 m).
He played both the shooting guard and point guard positions. Iverson was an eleven-time NBA All-Star, won the All-Star game MVP award in 2001 and 2005, and was the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2001.
